Captured from the live Datum Home Lending demo, including the rate ladder on the home page, the loan options pages and the learning center.
Where Datum wins
Datum fits a lender or broker who wants borrowers to compare terms on the site instead of shopping elsewhere. Its rate ladder shows sample 15-year and 30-year scenarios with the interest each one costs over the life of the loan.
Lenders who compete on transparent pricingLifetime interest sits next to the rate
The rate ladder lines up six terms with rate, APR, monthly payment and what each one costs over the life of the loan, which is the argument a rate shopper has never seen.
A chart does the explaining
The balance curve shows a 15-year and a 30-year paying down side by side, so the trade-off lands without a phone call.
Search built into the site
A keyboard search across rates, programs and terms keeps a comparison shopper on your pages instead of back on Google.
Also on the site

How to compare mortgage offers fairly on a website
Rate shoppers compare headlines. These are the comparisons Datum is built to make instead, and the rules that govern showing them.
Rate and APR together
Regulation Z says an ad that states a rate must state the APR as well, and the simple rate cannot be shown more prominently than the APR. Datum puts both in the same row.
Lifetime interest
Total interest over the full term is simple to calculate and rarely shown. It is often the clearest way to set a 15-year loan against a 30-year one.
Points and credits
A lower rate bought with discount points costs cash at closing. A fair comparison shows the points or lender credits beside the rate they buy.
The Loan Estimate as the real comparison
Every lender must deliver a standard Loan Estimate within three business days of an application. Datum can explain how to read one, so borrowers compare like with like.

Rebuilding Datum as your site
Datum only works if the comparison stays honest, so most of the rebuild is about what the ladder shows and how each row is labeled.
- The ladder gets your scenarios. The six sample terms are replaced with the products you actually price, such as a 30-year fixed, a 15-year fixed or an FHA loan, using illustrative figures you approve.
- APR beside every rate. Each row keeps the APR next to the rate and states the assumptions behind it, such as loan amount, credit score and points.
- Search tuned to your terms. The site search indexes your program names and glossary, so a visitor typing "points" or "jumbo" lands on your page for it.
Pick Datum if
If not, Plinth or Copperline may suit you better.
- You lose deals to lenders quoting a lower rate with a worse total cost
- Your pitch is the whole loan, not the headline number
- You want borrowers comparing terms on your site instead of a rate table site
